Platinum Jubilee Collection
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
A series of illustration about the Secretary bird (eagle) and other animals in nature.
These images are part of my illustration series Tangled Eagle.
The ultimate goal of this collection is to show the power and authority of the eagle, which is based on my experience during my life across the world.
These paintings are related to the cross-cultural case of eagle. This is because the eagle has historically been used to represent the everlasting power and the reign of royals and dynasties. The image of the eagle has often been used in royal and military seals in Europe, as well as the middle east and east Asian regions.
The artwork is illustrated on the traditional Korean papers (which are hand-made objects by a paper artist), and I have used gold and silver flakes to indicate the allure of eagle and their aura of elegancy.
